Become
a volunteer at the All-Canadian Jazz Festival in downtown Port
Hope, Ontario. Volunteer Opportunities include:
- Greeters -
provide information and directions to people coming to the
Festival and Port Hope. Some greeters are needed to meet the
VIA train Friday early evening at the Port Hope train station.
- Interviewers - conduct surveys of people attending
the Festival by asking a variety of questions each day. Interviews
will be conducted during specified hours.
Merchandise Sales - sell Festival merchandise such as
T-shirts, hats, CDís and posters. Sales and display experience
an asset but not necessary.
- Bar Servers - volunteers of legal age to serve wine
and beer throughout the Festival. Training provided, experience
an asset.
- Cashiers - responsible for handling money e.g. ticket
sales, beverage sales, nightclub, jazz boutique, and Festival
entrance gate.
- Drivers - drive Young Jazz Showcase Musicians to designated
locations.
- Monitors - count people at the entrance and exit gates
and enforce regulations re park admission. Training provided.
- Technical Support Crew - experience with lights and
sound equipment needed.
- Setup/Knockdown Crew - required several days before
and after the Festival to prepare the site. A crew is required
at the site during Festival for venue changes.
- Fire Watch/Wardens - taking action and giving direction
in case of emergency. Training provided.
- Volunteer tent
monitoring - provide bracelets and necessary information
to volunteers checking in for their shift.
- Clean-up
crew - keep tables and park free of garbage.
